Activities of the society include:

•  Scientific & cultural services:

•  Sponsoring projects that help in developing cardiothoracic surgery in Egypt & Arabian countries by ensuring patients' health education & establishing recommendations governing the centers specialized in cardiothoracic surgery.

•  Encouraging surgeons' progressive medical education in addition of creating better training programs.

•  Improving communication between doctors.

•  Development of local communities.

•  Studying all the needs in order to develop cardiothoracic surgical practice in Egypt

as; issuing recommendations governing the quality and cost of equipments used together with regulating the communication between Egypt other countries.

•  Ensuring members continuous medical education by arranging annual conferences & seminars.

•  Publishing the journal of ESCTS.
